R2 steers are trading around $2.80 - $3.20kgLW, with R2 heifers fetching around $2.50 - $2.80kgLW, and some top end lines breaking the $3 mark. On the dairy cattle front there is plenty of demand for R1 heifers, with export orders chasing Jersey and Friesians and local buyers stocking up on the Xbred lines. Dairy herd auctions are still a mixed bag depending on quality, with R2 heifers trading around $1000 - $1600 depending on breed and figures.
