A cold to start to the week but at least its not raining!! This weeks beef schedules are steady overall for North & South Islands. Schedules for lamb are up this week, with NI at $6.20 and SI at $6.00. GDT auctions were up 3.2% overall. If you are still looking for top ups for your dairy herd, then check out the drafting gate today as we still have a few options available before 1st June. R1 Friesian bulls are trading around $3.60 - $3.80kgLW with R2 Friesian bulls fetching around $2.85 - $3.10kgLW. Store lambs are trading around $2.70 - $2.90kgLW. Still plenty of demand for the last of the run weaners with these fetching around $3.50 - $4kgLW for 250 - 300kg calves.
