SHORT SHARP MARKET ROUND UP..
The weather is improving by the day, with warm temperatures helping to keep the grass growing if its not water logged like some areas are! Beef schedules overall are steady this week. NI lamb is $7.10, and SI lamb is $7.00.
In the Dairy sector, the feeder calf season is near the end, prices have seen a lift again as numbers drop off. Friesian bulls are all but gone, with a few selling around the $100 mark. Beef calves are trading around $150 - $200 for bulls, with heifers fetching from $50 - $150 depending on quality. In the Beef & Sheep sector, Store cattle markets are heating up with good demand for most classes of cattle. R1 Friesian bulls around 250kg are trading at $3.20 - $3.50kgLW, with 300kg bulls at $3.10 - $3.20kgLW. R1 beef steers around 300kg are fetching $3.50 - $3.70kgLW. R2 steer & heifers are steady at present. Ewes with LAF are trading around $75 - $95 all counted. Store lamb numbers are limited, with most fetching around $3.50 - $3.80kgLW.
