SHORT SHARP MARKET ROUND UP..

Another hot week for most, with much of the same forcast for this week. Beef schedules are back another 10 cents in the North, with South schedules steady. NI Lamb schedule is back another 10 cents to $7.10, with SI Lamb back 15 cents to $7.10 this week. Space is very tight with bookings out to the new year now. Our website has had 1000’s of page views in the last week, and we have new listings every day. If you are finding it hard to move your stock, then it may be worth getting your agent to list them on MLR, to help reach more potential buyers.

In the Dairy Sector

As many have been saying for a while, the payout took a 35 cent cut back to $6.40 this week. GDT Auctions have been battling for a while, along with Europe stock-piling, so this was always on the cards. Still a long way to go yet, with farm sales only starting to be confirmed in the last week or so. We have plenty of dairy listings, so if you are buying a herd this season then take a look.

In the Beef & Sheep Sector

With dry conditions starting to take hold, the store cattle markets are taking a hit. 1yr Friesian bulls are trading around $2.70 - $2.90kgLW, with limited demand. 1yr Steers also have taken a hit, with most selling around $3.30 - $3.60kgLW. 100kg Friesian bulls have eased, with $480 - $520 the money at present. Store lambs are flowing out in large numbers due to the dry conditions, with most fetching around $2.60- $2.80kgLW.
