Beef schedules have slightly eased this weeks by 5 - 10 cents. NI lamb is steady again this week at $7.10, with SI lamb steady at $7.05.
In the Dairy Sector
Autumn calving is well underway now, with calves in high demand. Prices for Friesian bulls range, but in most cases $200 - $300 is the money depending on quality. Beef x Calves are very strong, with most fetching well north of $300 this season. GDT auction was down only 1.2%, with WMP on par with last auction.
In the Beef & Sheep Sector
The store lamb market is strong, with most fetching $3.20 - $3.40kgLW. On the cattle front R2 prices have eased this week, with Steers fetching around $3kgLW, and Heifers around $2.80kgLW. R2 Friesian bulls 400kg + are making $2.80 - $2.90kgLW. Run weaner steers are still fetching north of $4kgLW, with heifers around $3.30kgLW for 250kg.
