Winter has arrived and the forecast is looking to be a cold one. NI Bull & Cow schedules have seen a lift, due to numbers drying up. Steers remain steady again this week. NI lamb has lifted to $7.50, with SI lamb also lifted to $7.30. Dairy cattle are already on the move as we head into 1st June, so check out NAIT's Moving Day campaign, if you are on the move this season. On the dairy front, M-Bovis is the big topic at present, with the government making a decision tomorrow. Hopefully this will give the industry some much needed clarity going forward. Drying off is in full swing, with cows on the move to grazing for the winter. On the beef & sheep front, the Stud bull season is underway, with On-farm auctions happening all over the country for the coming month. R2 Fries bulls are trading around $2.70 - $2.80kgLW. R1 Fries bulls are around $3.50 - $3.70kgLW. R2 Steers are fetching around the $3 mark, with Heifers around $2.70 - $2.80kgLW. Store lambs are hot property again this week, with most fetching $3.80 - $4kgLW. SIL ewes are starting to hit the market, with most fetching around $170.
