A wet and wild weekend for some parts of the North Island. Beef schedules are steady in the North Island, with the South lifting another 5 - 10 cents this week. NI lamb is steady at $7.85, with SI lamb at $7.80. On the Beef & Sheep front, 100kg + Autumn Friesian wnr bulls are trading around $550 mark, with Beef x bulls around $600 - $650. R2 Steers are fetching around $3kgLW, with Heifers around $2.80kgLW. R1 Steers are selling at $3.60 - $3.80kgLW, with heifers around $3.20 - $3.30kgLW. R2 Fries bulls are trading at $2.60 - $2.80kgLW, with R1 Fries bulls around $3.20 - $3.40kgLW. Store lambs are heading towards the end of their season, with most trading around $3.70 - $3.80kgLW. On the Dairy front, calving is getting underway for the early regions, with alot of talk around the bobby kill being high this season, as less calves will be reared. We think calves will still be reared, as alot of operations depend on Fries bulls for their farms. Not many calves have hit the market yet, so too early to tell where the market will sit this season. Will update next week with some pricing.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
