After a wet and cold week it's good to see the sun over the weekend. Beef schedules are steady this week. NI lamb is at $8.55, with SI lamb at $8.30. On the dairy front, the GDT auction was down again by 0.7%, with WMP down by 2.2%. Calving is now well over half way for most, with some good demand for beef calves at present. Most W/H bulls are fetching around $180 - $280 depending on age and weight. Good W/H hfrs are also selling well, with most fetching around $150. Only a few Friesian bulls coming through now, with these selling around $100 - $150 depending on quality. On the beef & sheep front, wet & cold weather this week has seen the store cattle market remain steady, as most buyers hold back from buying. We may see some prices lift once the weather improves. Store lambs are trading around $4 - $4.40kgLW, with Ewes with LAF fetching $100 - $120 all counted.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
