A wet week ahead for most of us, which is more than welcomed at this time of year. Beef schedules remain steady in the NI & SI overall this week. NI lamb is steady at $8.10, with SI lamb at $7.85 this week. On the dairy front, another hard week for dairy products, with the GDT auction down 3.5% overall. A new export order for Friesian Incalf heifers to China is out now, at $1500 for early March delivery. Plenty of dairy herds and heifers are coming to the market at present, with little buyer interest as yet. A few farms are starting to sell now, so herd and heifer sales should follow. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle remain steady, with cattle moving now due to better weather conditions and markets. 1yr Friesian bulls are trading around $2.60 - $2.70kgLW, and 1yr steers are fetching around $3.20 - $3.40kgLW, with heifers at $$2.90 - $3.10kgLW. 2yr Steers are making $3 - $3.20kgLW, with heifers around the $2.80kgLW mark. 100kg Friesian bulls are trading around $450 - $500 depending on weights, with WH bulls trading around $600 and heifers around $450. Store lambs are in good demand, with most lines fetching around $3.40 - $3.60kgLW.
Have a great week from the MLR team
