Beef schedules overall are steady again this week. NI lamb is down to $7.10, with SI lamb also at $7.10. On the dairy front, another export order for China is out for mid March delivery at $1700. There are a few buyers looking for herds at present so this is the time to be marketing your herd if you are thinking of selling up this season. On the beef & sheep front, some areas start to dry out but overall the store cattle markets remain steady. R2 Frieisan bulls are trading around $2.80 - $2.90kgLW with R2 steers at $3.30 - $3.40kgLW and R2 heifers around $ 3 - $3.40kgLW. Friesian wnr bulls are trading around $450 - $500 depending on weights and quality. 100kg+ W/H bulls are fetching $600 - $650 and W/H heifers are around $450 - $500. Store lambs have eased with most fetching around $3.20 - $3.90kgLW. Breeding ewes are a hot commodity again this week with most fetching $250 - $300 for top quality ewes with five year ewes making around $150 - $200.
