Well some of us have had some much needed rain over the weekend, which should help freshen things up for a bit. Beef schedules are eased 5 - 10 cents overall this week. NI lamb is back at $7.10, with SI lamb at $6.80. On the dairy front, the GDT auction was up 0.9% overall, with WMP up 0.3%. Scanning is underway now, with most reports so far of 8 - 14% for MT rates. With feed limited at present, most are choosing to cull MT's now to help take the pressure off feed levels. If you have good young MT Friesian & Frsn x with good indexes, then these are in demand at around $700 - $800. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets have eased further this week, with limited cattle coming to the market, and some classes back 5 cents. However R2 Friesian bulls remain steady at $2.60 - $2.70kgLW. Store lambs have eased again, with most trading around $3.10 - $3.20kgLW.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
