On the dairy front, a few clearing sales are taking place, with one in Northland selling a top Xbred cow for $32,000. Sales averages are ranging from $1200 to $1800 depending on herd quality. The GDT auctions was up 0.4% overall with WMP down 0.5%. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain steady, with farmers looking to destock for winter. R2 Friesian bulls are fetching around $2.50kgLW with R1 Friesian bulls fetching $3.10 - 3.20kgLW. R2 Steers are around $2.80 - $3kgLW with heifers around $2.60 - $2.70kgLW. R1 Steers are around $3.30 - $3.60 with heifers around $2.90kgLW. Store lambs are still in good demand with most fetching $3.30 - $3.50kgLW.
