Beef schedules are steady overall this week, with most meat processors tight with space, and up to a couple of weeks waiting time at present. NI lamb is at $7.45, with SI lamb at $7.10. On the dairy front, only 10 days now till 1st June, with cows and heifers still selling at the last minute. Overall markets are not great, with buyers having most of the say around pricing. Clearing sales are a mixed bag, with some going well, but most have been a battle. Plenty of demand for R1 Friesian heifers for export, with a few orders out now. Pricing is $1000 - $1200 depending on delivery dates from June to September. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain similar to last week, with buyers holding back, and feed levels keeping a lid on prices overall. Store lambs are still flowing with plenty of demand, and most are selling around $3.40 - $3.60kgLW.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
