The weather is looking good for the next few days, which will help to keep the grass growing for most of us. Beef schedules overall have lifted another 5 - 10 cents this week. NI lamb has lifted to $7.80, with SI lamb also lifted to $7.55. Some lamb schedules have cracked the $8 mark with some processors. On the dairy front, the GDT auction was down 3.8% overall, with WMP down 4.3%. There is currently good demand for incalf cows and heifers, so if you still have good lines to sell, get them listed with MLR now. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets are on the move, with most classes of cattle seeing a lift in demand and prices this week. R2 steers are trading around the $3 mark, with R2 heifers around $2.70 - $2.80kgLW. R2 Friesian bulls are fetching around $2.60 - $2.70kgLW, with R1 bulls around $3.10 - $3.20kgLW. R1 steers are making $3.60 - $3.70kgLW, with heifers around $3.10 - $3.20kgLW. 100kg Autumn Friesian wnr bulls are trading around $550 - $600. Store lambs are in hot demand, with most selling around $3.70 - $3.90kgLW.
