Beef schedules are steady overall this week. NI lamb has lifted to $8.20, with SI lamb lifted to $7.90. On the dairy front, calving is well underway for most areas, with calf markets steady overall this week. Looking at South Island calf prices, these seem to be around 50% less then the North Island at present. Talks are they are not being reared this year. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain strong, with R2 Friesian bulls trading around $2.90 - $3.00kgLW, with R1 bulls fetching around $3.30 - 3.40kgLW. R2 steers are making $3.20 - $3.40kgLW, with heifers around $3.00kgLW. R1 steers are around $3.70 - $3.90kgLW, with heifers making $3.30 - $3.40kgLW. Store lambs remain popular, with most fetching $4.30 - $4.50kgLW.
