Beef schedules overall are steady, with NI bull & cow up 10 cents this week. NI lamb is steady at $8.30, with SI lamb up at $8.05. On the dairy front, Fonterra are back in the news, but it's all bad news again, the longer this drags on the more damage they are going to do to the overall value of Fonterra. Time to sell to China and get the much needed captial it needs, to be the great dairy company it use to be! Interesting to note our major meat exporters are now foreign owned, and we have seen some of the strongest lamb and beef schedules in years! On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain steady, with R2 Friesian bulls fetching around the $3kgLW mark. R1 Friesian bulls are trading around $3.10 - $3.30kgLW. R2 steers are making around $3.30 - $3.40kgLW, with heifers around $3 - $3.10kgLW. Store lambs are easing, with most fetching around $4.20 - $4.40kgLW.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
