Well the first day of spring is here and the weather has been warm and sunny for most over the weekend. Looks like this may change in the coming days though. Beef schedules in the NI & SI are steady overall this week. NI lamb has lifted 5 cents, with SI lamb up 10 cents. On the dairy front, a few lines of inmilk cows and heifers are starting to move, with most of these fetching around $1000 - $1500 depending on indexes and breeds. There are still good numbers of calves coming out, with beef calves selling well, but Friesian bulls not so popular. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets are quiet, with prices steady overall. Store lambs are fetching around $4.00 - $4.20kgLW, and Ewes with lambs at foot are making around $80 - $120 all counted, depending on quality and age.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
