Beef schedules have lifted another 5 - 10 cents overall this week. NI lamb is now at $8.70, with SI lamb up 5 cents to $8.55. On the dairy front, with dairy farms hitting the market, so are dairy herds with early indications the market for cows and heifers will be similar to last year at this stage. Export markets for Friesian heifers are strong with prices ranging from $1400 - $1650 depending on quality and delivery dates. On the beef & sheep front, Friesian 1yr bulls are fetching $3 - $3.30kgLW with R2 Friesian bulls around $3.10kgLW. 1yr steers are making $3.80 - $4 with heifers around $3.30 - $3.40kgLW. Early 100kg Friesian weaner bulls are hitting the market with most fetching around $550. WH bulls are fetching $600 or better for good lines. Old season store lambs are near the end with most fetching around $4 - 4.20kgLW.
