Most parts of NZ should get some more rain this week to help freshen up grass and crops. With meat processors all booked up till Xmas, all beef schedules are back this week, with space hard to come by. Sounds like schedules will further reduce heading into the New Year! NI lamb is back to $8.75, with SI lamb back to $8.80. On the dairy front, dairy cattle sales remain quiet at present, as most farms on the market are still trying to find new buyers. We should see the dairy market spark into life in the New Year. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain soft this week, with plenty of cattle available and limited buying power. The 100kg + weaner calves are not popular with buyers at present. Good quality lines are selling well, but anything else is battling to find buyers.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
