Summer is kicking in now with little rain for most of us for the start of 2020. All beef schedules are back this week, with space hard to come by, and space looking tight for a while yet. NI lamb is back to $8.00, with SI lamb back to $7.90. On the dairy front, a few herds and heifers are selling for May and June delivery. Incalf heifers are fetching around $1550 - $1650. Herds are ranging from $1800 - $1950 for good herds. Autumn calving cows and heifers are in good demand, with most fetching $1400 - $1800 depending on quality. If you have surplus autumn calvers, then this is the time to be selling so get them listed with MLR. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain soft for the start of the year, with all prices back from pre Xmas levels. Store lambs are also back around $20/hd, with most trading around $90 - $115/HD for good lambs. Medium lambs around $70 - $80/HD.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
