Beef schedules are back again this week, NI lamb is back to $7.55, with SI lamb back to $7.50. On the dairy front, a few export orders are coming on now for R1 Friesian heifers for March - June delivery, with prices ranging from $1,050 to $1,450 depending on type and delivery dates. This is a great opportunity for selling surplus heifers for extra cashflow over the coming months. On the beef & sheep front, store cattle markets remain sticky, with limited buying power for most classes at present. R2 steers & heifers are fetching around $2.70 - $3kgLW, with R2 Friesian bulls selling around $2.50 - $2.80kgLW. The 100kg + weaner market is hard work with limited buyers. If you can find buyers prices for Friesian bulls are around $400 - $500 depending on weights and quality with WH bulls around $550 - $650 and heifers around $400 - $500. Store lambs are fetching around the $3kgLW mark.
Have a great week from the MLR team.
