MARKET ROUND UP from the field...
Schedules are steady this week with good numbers still flowing with bulls getting space ahead of primes. Lamb is back another 10 cents.
Another slide in the GlobalDairyTrade Auctions this week of 7.9% has left the current payout again in doubt. On the cow front though there are some good herd listings on myloadingramp.nz with prices ranging from $1700 - $1900 and incalf heifers from $1400 - $1600. Some good line of weaner heifers are priced from $495 - $750 depending on breed and figures.
Beef & Sheep Sector
Now with most of the country having some good grass cover, the store cattle are holding their value with 1yr Friesian bulls fetching $2.70kgLW - $2.90kgLW. 1yr Beef steers are moving at $3.00kgLW for 300kg types with Heifers making around $2.80kgLW. Friesian weaner bulls this week are finding homes at $350 - $380 for 90kg - 100kg with 110kg - 120kg + around $390 - $420.
