MARKET ROUND UP FROM THE FIELD...
June is now upon us with people settling into their new farms and most are dry now having a couple of months well deserved break from the cow shed. Bring on the 2016 season! Schedules are firm this week with some up around 10 cents.
DAIRY SECTOR
On the dairy livestock front, there is a genuine shortage of good quality cows, incalf heifers and R1's are selling strong. NZ has had record numbers of cows killed and eczema has been rampant throughout the country. Dairy cow numbers are at there lowest since 2005. At MLR we see some real opportunity in trading some incalf cattle going foward.
BEEF & SHEEP SECTOR
Same story again this week as store cattle remain in good demand especially R2 Bulls & Steers. We have plenty of buyers constantly checking our site so if you have any lines of beef cattle for sale then list them with MLR to gain access to our nationwide buying power.
